What is the Senior Accountant- Financial Reporting Responsibilities?
- Conduct technical accounting research and prepare documentation, including assessments of new GAAP or statutory reporting requirements.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements.
- Demonstrate expertise in GAAP and statutory accounting principles.
- Create journal entries and supporting worksheets to validate and document account balances.
- Manage the preparation and submission of quarterly and annual filings to ensure compliance.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts with detailed accuracy.
- Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls to protect financial assets and ensure reliable financial reporting.
- Oversee both internal and external audit processes.
- Assist in preparing financial reports for review by executive leadership, regulatory agencies, auditors, financial institutions, and reinsurers.
What are the requirements of this Senior Accountant-Financial Reporting?
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of accounting experience working for a publicly traded company dealing with SEC reporting (10K/10Q)
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
