Senior Accountant
A Wash DC based organization seeks a Senior Accountant. This position will report directly to the Director of Finance and will be responsible for general accounting responsibilities. In addition, the Senior Accountant will manage the accounting and reporting of donor restricted funds.

responsibilities:
- Oversee the accounting of donor restricted funds
- Prepare financial reports for grants and select donor restricted funds
- Provide and/or assist with budgets for grant and donor restricted fund proposals
- Reconciliation of select balance sheet accounts
- Assist with administration of retirement accounts
- Provide backup for accounts payable as needed
- Review financial information for business insurance
- Assist Controller and Director with quarterly financial statements with responsibility for net assets schedule (containing donor restricted fund balances)
- Assist Controller and Director with annual audit schedules with responsibility for the compensation schedule
- Assist Controller and Director with the annual 990 return schedules with responsibility for completing the compensation schedule
- Review and approve semi-monthly payroll, quarterly reports and year end reconciliation.
- Process payroll on a quarterly basis and provide backup as needed to payroll staff
- Review benefit and payroll deductions reconciliations
qualifications:
- BS/BA degree preferred
- At least 2 years of accounting experience
- Strong Excel skills
This organization offers a complete benefits package including generous PTO. Work schedule is hybrid. Salary is $80,000 - 90,000.
