Bancroft is currently seeking an Senior Accountant - Treasury to join our Accounting department in Cherry Hill, NJ. This will be a hyrid position, 3 days on site.
Responsibilities:Performs routine to highly complex accounting activities, analyzes financial data, and prepares related financial statements and reports. Ensures compliance with Bancroft policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Continuously identifies and facilitates process improvements.
- Analyses and reconciles various accounting data and makes appropriate entries to the general ledger on a timely
basis:- Performs monthly bank reconciliations for the operating, payroll and other bank accounts. Identifies
outstanding checks, performs timely research, resolves discrepancies, reconciles to general ledger
account, and makes appropriate entries to general ledger. - Update daily cash and cash projections.
- Performs investment reconciliation.
- Works with the development team to reconcile all donations and temporarily restricted net assets.
- Independently reviews, monitors and analyzes revenue/expense data for organizational accounts; ensures
compliance with funding and reporting requirements, approved Bancroft accounting policies and Generally

- Independently reviews, monitors and analyzes revenue/expense data for organizational accounts; ensures compliance with funding and reporting requirements, approved Bancroft accounting policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles:
- Reviews and analyzes monthly revenue and expense accounts to ensure proper recording in the General Ledger for Corporate Service Line. Prepares necessary journal entries with supporting documentation to appropriately adjust accounts. Generates monthly General Ledger reports, compares budgeted/forecasted versus actual data for review by Accounting leadership.
- Assists with end-of-month closing process in accordance with established closing schedule.
- Generates profit and loss and related reports from the Accounting System and performs variance analysis of budgeted/forecasted to actual expenses. Performs necessary research to identify and resolve account discrepancies, interreacts with appropriate parties in compiling specific account information and, upon resolution, inputs data into Accounting System for transfer to General Ledger; makes journal entries for expense accruals, as necessary.
- Constructs routine and moderately complex spreadsheet applications, prepares financial data for input into Accounting System and generates various accounting reports, as necessary.
- Serves as the administrator for the Special Needs Pooled Trust.
- Serves as financial liaison for assigned service line(s) by facilitating the exchange of financial information and communication between Accounting and Service Line. This includes but is not limited to: revenue analysis,
expense variance analysis, forecasting, budgeting and general support. - For funding for services provided to individuals served:
- Completes and submits various applications, agreements and reports required by governmental
agencies to obtain and maintain funding for individuals served by Bancroft. - Responds to requests from outside agencies in a timely manner.
- Collaborates with Service Line(s) to ensure all required documentation is accurate, complete and submitted to agencies as required in a timely manner in order to enable individuals served by Bancroft to receive all funding for which they are eligible.
- Enter and track individuals we support information and upload documentation into database software.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of all demographic, PNA and other information for individuals served.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and documentation to ensure compliance with governmental agencies.
- Reviews and reconciles cash receipts from outside agencies to ensure that all eligible and approved funding has been received and is properly recorded.
- Completes and submits various applications, agreements and reports required by governmental
- BS in Accounting required with a minimum of five years of experience in the accounting field, two of which are in internal auditing or with a public accounting firm.
- CPA preferred.
