Job Description:
As a Senior Accountant, you will be instrumental in maintaining our financial integrity and supporting our mission. Your role will involve overseeing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and utilizing your advanced Excel skills to contribute to financial decision-making. You will collaborate with various departments to support operational initiatives and help guide our financial strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and records in accordance with GAAP.
· Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
· Conduct detailed financial analyses to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
· Develop and manage the annual budgeting process, providing analytical support to department heads.
· Prepare and present financial reports to management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
· Assist in the preparation for external audits and regulatory filings
· Collaborate with other departments to develop and track performance metrics, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
· Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
· Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and industry trends to ensure best practices.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare or senior living environment.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, , financial modeling) and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
· Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple priorities.
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
