Overview
Our client is a national leader in automotive collision repair, and they are seeking a Senior Accountant to play a key role on the continued build-out of their accounting function. The company itself is well-established and has been around for over 20 years; recent investment funding has sparked huge growth and made it possible for the company to focus of developing its team and processes.
This is a newly created role due to the growth the company is experiencing. What’s exciting about the opportunity is that you will see a ton of variety in your day-to-day tasks. As the Senior Accountant, you will work closely with general ledger management, budgeting & forecasting, internal controls, audit support, financial reporting, and process improvement.
The company has around 500 locations nationwide, has acquired 300 locations in the last ~5 years, and is approximately $3 billion in revenue!
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the general ledger and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Conduct regular account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor annual budgets.
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts.
- Implement and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
- Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
- Streamline accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Provide meaningful variance analysis and insights to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Accounting or Finance
- Strong communicator, capable of working with peers and senior management
- Strong analytical thinker
- Independent, self-starter that works well in team environment
- Capable of quickly adapting to change
- Proficiency in MS Office products – intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Strong attention to detail
- Deep understanding of internal controls and segregation of duties
- Ability to work cross functionally and act as a liaison with all levels or organization and external business partnerships
- Ability to adapt in fast-paced environments
- Debt/Lender management preferred
- Previous private equity experience a plus
