The Role
Aquarian Holdings is seeking an exceptional Senior Accountant to join its Finance and Accounting team. The Senior Accountant will report to the Chief Accounting Officer.
This 5 day a week in-office position is located in New York City.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the monthly closes through preparation of account reconciliations, journal entries and flux analysis
- Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual investor and regulatory reporting requirements. Including financial statements, management reporting packages and contract invoicing
- Maintain records and schedules for specific general ledger accounts including but not limited to cash, accrued expenses, debt financing and accounts payable
- Research accounting guidance to assist in accounting memo writing on complex positions
- Handle routine information requests from management, tax advisors and auditors
- Assist third party consultants on the implementation of accounting process improvements
- Manage the accounts payable process including invoice coding, complex expense allocations and liquidity needs
Ideal profile and characteristics:
- Exhibit a strong understanding of US GAAP
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while utilizing effective time management
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on projects and daily tasks
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and eligible to sit for the CPA
- Certified Public Accountant, strongly preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in public accounting firm or asset management experience
- Working knowledge of GAAP
- Advanced skills in MS Excel
- Knowledge of Netsuite, a plus
