Senior Accountant - Irvine, CA (Onsite)
Vaco Resources is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our client’s dynamic team in the traffic management and construction services industry. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a large and growing organization based out of Irvine, California. The role offers a competitive hourly rate of $40-52/hr. and the potential for permanent placement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely financial transaction recording in the general ledger.
- Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations while assisting with monthly close processes.
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and manage Intercompany transactions and Fixed Asset schedules.
- Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
- Adhere to processing and reporting deadlines and respond promptly to information requests.
- Review financial statements, assist with audits, and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
- Develop and maintain extensive financial data sets, utilizing Excel and other tools for account reconciliation.
- Prepare for financial audits and interact directly with auditors.
- Collaborate with the FP&A department on special projects, monthly reporting, and ad hoc financial analysis.
- Fulfill various daily, monthly, and quarterly deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Analytics, or Economics.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, with 5-10 years in a corporate setting preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and auditing practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and the capacity to learn job-specific software.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data management.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- A detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and a mindset geared toward continuous improvement.
