Whether you are a Senior or Staff Accountant, you will play an integral role in accurately preparing our client’s accounting records and performance.
As a Senior Accountant your typical day may involve:
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Conduct variance analyses, providing detailed explanations for differences between actual and budgeted figures.
General Ledger Management
- Oversee and manage the general ledger, including posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and maintaining supporting documentation.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records by performing monthly and quarterly reconciliations.
Month-End Close Process
- Lead aspects of the month-end close process, including preparing adjusting entries and reviewing reconciliations.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to close the books on time and address any discrepancies or issues.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support audit preparation and provide documentation and analysis for external auditors.
Cross-Functional Support
- Work with other departments to provide financial insights and ensure alignment on accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and projects as needed to support management and operational initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite) and strong Excel skills.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of GAAP and experience with general ledger functions.
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills are essential.
