Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Accrual Accounting: Record, monitor, and reconcile accruals to ensure accurate expense recognition and reporting.
- Amortization Processes: Manage the timely recording and reconciliation of amortizations related to prepaid expenses and other assets.
- Deferred Revenue and Expenses: Prepare and post journal entries for deferred revenue and expenses, ensuring proper recognition in alignment with revenue recognition standards.
- Rebill Entries: Create and process rebill entries, ensuring intercompany and client-related transactions are accurately documented and allocated.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring timely reconciliations and resolution of discrepancies.
- Month-End Close: Lead and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including preparing and posting all necessary journal entries.
- Audit Support: Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide documentation and resolve audit queries.
- Compliance and Controls: Ensure all accounting activities align with internal controls, GAAP, and SOX requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements for greater efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with finance, operations, and other teams to ensure seamless integration of financial data and business objectives.
Senior Accountant Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA certification preferred).
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with accruals, amortizations, and deferred revenue/expense recognition.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs preferred).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition principles.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
