Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for construction projects.
- Monitor project budgets and costs to ensure financial performance aligns with company goals.
- Manage project-related financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Project Accounting:
- Oversee job costing, revenue recognition, and billing processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project financials.
- Collaborate with project managers to track project progress and financial status.
Compliance and Auditing:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain financial controls and procedures.
Team Leadership:
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
- Facilitate training and development programs to enhance team capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in construction accounting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and construction industry financial practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
