Position Overview: The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing a variety of accounting functions, including treasury management, cash flow projections, and lease administration. This role is key to ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations within our real estate portfolio, including fund management and vendor relations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP, experience with real estate accounting, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Position Overview: The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing a variety of accounting functions, including treasury management, cash flow projections, and lease administration. This role is key to ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations within our real estate portfolio, including fund management and vendor relations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP, experience with real estate accounting, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Treasury and Cash Management: Oversee daily treasury functions, including cash flow monitoring, management, and forecasting.
- Prepare cash flow projections to ensure liquidity and meet operational needs.
- Investor Funding Requests: Prepare funding requests and distributions to investors as needed.
- Collaborate with the finance team to manage capital calls and returns.
- ACH/Wire Relationships: Draft and review standard reference requests for new ACH/wire relationships.
- Ensure all ACH/wire payments comply with company policies and banking regulations.
- Accounts Receivable (AR) Management: Review AR aging reports regularly to assess the collectability of outstanding balances.
- Recommend and implement write-offs or reserves based on the assessment.
- Accounts Payable (AP) Management: Oversee accounts payable functions including issuing checks, setting up wire/ACH payments, and managing vendor relationships.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor files and assist with any vendor inquiries.
- Lease Administration: Manage the lease administration process, ensuring proper accounting treatment per GAAP or other relevant accounting standards.
- Handle lease accounting for complex leases, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance: Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CPA eligibility preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in real estate or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, specifically related to real estate accounting and lease administration.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; JD Edwards and Yardi experience a plus.
