We are currently recruiting for a Senior AV Project Manager. This is a full-time position with our client who is a global leader in video collaboration and customer AV. The Senior Project Manager will lead and direct concurrent projects classified mainly as complex but can include projects classified as standard based on business needs. The individual will be involved in larger-scale projects supervised by a Programme Manager. This individual should have at least 5 years of project management experience, leading and delivering across multiple business units / functional areas.The primary responsibility of the Senior Project Manager will be to interface with all project stakeholders to take projects from original concept through to final implementation, including handing over to Operations (where applicable).
Essential Functions:- Pre-sales Support
- There is an expectation for the Senior Project Manager to engage with the Customer teams in order to adequately scope and cost project solutions. The scoping of the project would involve the completion of a proposal that includes a detailed task schedule, resource allocation, and cost breakdown.
- Identify Opportunities
- During project delivery or client engagement, the Senior Project Manager is expected to identify opportunities and influence the sale by conducting a business conversation with the client and positioning the services offerings.
- Project Delivery
- The Senior Project Manager shall ensure that the project delivers the agreed solution, remains within the baseline budget, and is delivered on time while achieving quality criteria and maintaining client satisfaction. This individual shall manage the delivery of the project according to the PMI knowledge areas and in line with DMS or Programme methodology. This includes rigorous project scope control and management of change variations. They will also communicate with key stakeholders regarding the status of their projects. Project set-up, resources, and operations are efficiently managed, possibly with the assistance of the Project Coordinator or Administrator.
- Client Satisfaction
- The Senior Project Manager will manage client satisfaction and expectations and manages escalations adequately. They shall act as the single point of contact with the client whilst being accountable for all escalations relating to the project.
- Team Management
- The Senior Project Manager needs to be able to lead teams effectively within a matrixed and remote environment. They shall act as people managers and provide feedback to the relevant line managers. The Senior Project Manager ensures that the project team has access to the project management tools and has the general means to perform their role. They shall also coach and mentor project team members and colleagues.
- Behavioral Skills
- As corporate citizens, they shall act as role models to the teams. They shall display assertiveness and act as an example when it comes to client satisfaction. The Senior Project Manager shall possess advanced communication, influencing, and negotiating ability. They shall display confidence and the ability to manage large teams of people. They should be detail focused, with powerful problem-solving abilities. Strong business acumen and a good understanding of general technology concepts are required. The Senior Project Manager shall work towards advanced project management certification. They shall be an expert in project change management and have a clear understanding of project life cycles.
- Leads and directs concurrent standard or complex projects.
- Engage with stakeholders to take projects from the original concept through final implementation.
- Provide customer support by working with customer teams to scope and cost the specified solution.
- Ensure that the project delivers the as-sold solution, remains within the baseline budget, and is delivered on time whilst maintaining quality criteria and client satisfaction.
- Manage the delivery of the project, including rigorous scope control and change management.
- Ensure client satisfaction and manage escalations, acting as a single point of contact to the client.
- Act as a people manager and enable
- Advanced Degree or relevant project management qualification
- PMP certification
- Prince 2 advantageous
- Audio Visual Credentials
- At least 10 -14 years of working experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience within a project delivery environment
- Minimum of 6 Years of project management experience, as a Project
- Manager or Snr Project Manager, preferably multi-national technology services environment (AV, VC, IPT preferred)
- Minimum 3 years experience in working within global or multinational projects.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to work with international clients, and have international experience working with European, North American, and Asian teams, or a combination thereof, in the delivery of projects.
- Proven client engagement experience
- Experience managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints
- Experience in commercial project management i.e. managing project Revenue, Invoicing, Cash Flow, Costs, Profitability, and Margin. Not only internal budget and cost management.
- Willingness to travel to client locations
- Knowledge and understanding of the Audio Visual and Video Collaboration industry
- Knowledge and understanding of the IT industry environment and business needs
- Assertive with client satisfaction orientation
