About the Job
- Model high quality 3D characters, environments, damages, and props that complement the art direction and style desired by the client, as well as model assets from scan data.
- Create custom riggs for non-human assets.
- Create and animate particle systems.
- Create storyboards.
- Create scene lighting and render with Vray as well as create and manage render passes and priorities.
- Create detailed, accurate animations of characters for our scenes.
- Composite custom graphics.
- Composite, animate, and edit medical surgeries and damages, mechanisms, and reconstructions.
- Composite and edit timelines and documentaries.
- Incorporate 3DS max physics systems.
- Paint damages using Substance Painter.
- Participates as a team member in determining various aesthetic solutions.
- Take lead on projects, as well as direct, guide, and help troubleshoot.
- Create workflow documentation.
- Participate in scrub and close out procedure.
- Oversee space in drives.
- Work with artists to plan, layout and execute the vision.
- Review Junior and Associate Artists’ work.
- Train, mentor, and supervise the work of entry, mid and mid high-level artists at the discretion of the Senior Project Manager.
- Lead training sessions.
- Attend interview process and administer assessment tests for potential new artists.
- Attend manager meetings when necessary.
- Artists must be able to work independently or in small groups to trouble-shoot and provide solutions to production issues related to asset creation and world building.
- Ability to work in observance of the project budget and schedule, while remaining capable of adapting to shifting priorities.
- Maintain or exceed a consistent level of productivity while meeting deadlines and producing high quality work.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and fellow Animators to maintain an efficient and successful production process.
- BA, BFA or an equivalent professional certification.
- 5-7 years of experience with 3DS Max as a Generalist.
- Must be proficient at using Adobe products. (i.e., Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro).
- Proficient in Rail Clone and Forest Pack.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Must respond well to criticism and feedback.
- Must possess experience presenting creative to clients in a way they can easily understand.
- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, have a strong work ethic, and have the ability to work well with others.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated individual with a willingness to continue to learn.
