Security Installation Foreman
Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Security Installation Foreman to join our team. As a Security Installation Foreman, you will oversee complete installation projects, ensuring quality control and adherence to timelines. You will be responsible for guiding a team of technicians, troubleshooting, and ensuring that all installations are completed safely and effectively. Being open to traveling is a bonus.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct a team of technicians on installation projects.
- Execute project plans while maintaining high-quality standards and adherence to schedules.
- Conduct pre-work site walks and safety toolbox talks daily.
- Read and understand blueprints, schematics, and line diagrams.
- Troubleshoot systems and resolve issues during installation.
- Record daily progress, including notes and pictures.
- Plan and install network infrastructure, including category cables, fiber, and coax cable.
- Install support and pathway structures such as ladder racks, j-hooks, cable trays, racks, cabinets, and fire penetrations.
- Organize and dress backbones, closets, and implement labeling schemes.
- Perform cable terminations, including jacks, patch panels, 66 and 110 blocks.
- Test cable and fiber installations.
- Understand and apply commissioning and tuning for Security, Audio, Visual, and Infrastructure Cabling systems.
- Knowledge of ANSI/TIA/EIA Telecommunication Standards and NEC codes.
- Rack and stack server work, closet work, and assembly of server racks and patch panels.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in AV, Security, Access Control, or Infrastructure Cabling.
- Proven experience leading a project team and reporting to a Project Manager or higher.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
- Must possess basic hand tools necessary for job performance.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and related documents.
- Open to traveling is a bonus.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends, as well as out-of-town assignments.
Skills Required:
- High School diploma or GED equivalency.
- Strong problem-solving and mathematical skills.
- Proficiency with industry tools and equipment.
- Physical ability to handle the workload, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Valid drivers license; motor vehicle record will be reviewed.
- Certifications in First-Aid, CPR, and relevant industry certifications are a plus.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, elevated workspaces, fumes, airborne particles, and outside weather conditions.
- Risk of electrical shock and vibration is present.
- Noise levels can vary, sometimes loud.
- Safety-sensitive and drug-free work environment adherence to safety policies is mandatory.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, and using ladders and scaffolds.
- Ability to identify colored wires and use fine motor skills for cabling work.
- Occasional lifting and moving of up to 25 pounds, and moving up to 50 pounds.
Salary: $27 - $31 per hour depending on experience and a successful interview.
