SUMMARY: Assist in providing for the security and protection of all students, staff and property.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the general security of all District facilities. Work hours may vary with adjustment made to benefit the district.
- Monitors and reports unauthorized personnel on district property
- Monitors any open doors and including school buses, windows and gates and secures them
- Monitor for lights, heat and/or air conditioning units that may have been left operating and take appropriate action
- Inspects cafeteria freezers to ensure adequate operation
- Maintains a close rapport with local police authorities
- Reports any break-ins, vandalism, etc. to local police authorities and appropriate principal or department head
- Completes required paperwork such as daily security log, offense reports, etc. and submits to appropriate personnel
- Reports to supervisor any abuse, misuse, or unauthorized use of school property observed during security checks
- Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality
- Performs other job related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
LICENSING:
- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Class D License.
- Submit to annual and random, Drug and Alcohol Testing.
- Acceptable driving record for the last (3) three years.
- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).

ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Working Conditions: Work is routinely performed in an indoor office and outdoor environment including exposure to loud noise and being on your feet.
