Job Description:
- Facilitate daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo, and retrospective meetings.
- Ensure that all team meetings are productive and kept within the allotted time.
- Coach team members in agile frameworks and practices.
- Mentor the team to self-organize and to use agile/scrum practices to achieve its goals.
- Help the team to clarify goals and actions to achieve them.
- Identify and remove impediments that obstruct the team s progress.
- Protect the team from outside interruptions and distractions.
- Act as a liaison between the scrum team and any external entities to communicate project progress and needs.
- Ensure a good relationship between the team and product owner as well as others outside the team.
- Promote continuous improvement in all processes and practices.
- Facilitate change that increases the productivity of the team and quality of deliverables.
- Support and educate the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
- Help build a productive environment where team members own the product and enjoy working on it.
- Ensure that the team follows all procedures and processes of Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Foster the team s understanding of Agile/Scrum practices and principles.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Certifications: Professional Scrum Master (PSM), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or similar agile project management certifications.
- Experience: Proven experience in a scrum master role for a software development team that diligently applied Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
- Knowledge of Agile Practices: Thorough understanding of agile methodologies, practices, and values.
- Leadership Skills: Excellent skills in fostering teamwork, facilitating meetings, and encouraging open communication. Ability to lead by example and motivate a team.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to negotiate and effectively manage relationships with stakeholders and team members.
- Organizational Skills: Good skills in coaching, mentoring, and facilitation. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Aptitude: While not always mandatory, a background in software development or project management can be beneficial.
