School of Nursing - Simulation and Clinical Practice Center Associate
Summary:
The Patricia H. Garman School of Nursing at D’Youville University is seeking a per diem Simulation and Clinical Practice Center Associate. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Nursing Simulation and Clinical Practice Center and is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the Nursing Simulation and Clinical Practice Center to provide a supportive teaching and learning environment for undergraduate and graduate nursing students. The Associate will play a vital role in ensuring the quality of our state-of-the-art educational programs.
Responsibilities:- Facilitate activities in the Clinical Practice Center as directed by the Nursing Simulation and Clinical Practice Director and Assistant Director.
- Prepare materials for lab classes, practices, and testing as needed.
- Maintain necessary supplies for the lab and submit order requests to the Assistant Director.
- Assign duties to work-study students and graduate assistants in the Clinical Practice Center.
- Collaborate with faculty to implement activities that enhance learning in clinical courses.
- Consult with clinical coordinators and faculty regarding supplies, equipment, AV, and computer materials needed for instruction.
- Monitor the maintenance and repair of equipment, supplies, and laundry.
- Supervise open lab periods, assisting students with guided practice.
- Ensure the quality and integrity of academic learning, course curricula, and operations according to best practices.
- Assist in preparing simulation labs for specific scenarios and anticipate the needs of faculty and students.
- Review and update simulation scenarios for accuracy and alignment with curriculum needs.
- Attend continuing education events related to nursing simulation.
- Implement policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency of the Nursing Simulation and Clinical Practice Center.
- Maintain instruments used in the Clinical Practice Center, performing simple repairs as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Unrestricted New York Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse; BLS Certification required.
- Minimum of two years of experience in professional nursing practice.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Experience supervising undergraduate nursing students in higher education or as a preceptor in a healthcare organization.
- Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator through the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.

Pay: $14,000 - $15,600 Annually
