Primary Funtions:
- To keep the school runnning smoothly and efficiently while maintaining a friendly and pleasant attittude.
- To aid faculty, staff, and parents in whatever situation ariseswith complete confidentiality and professionalism.
- To be able to multitask and be flexible at all times.
- New student enrollment (This involves paperwork, faxing for records from transferring school, entering schedule in computer, entering historical grades from the school student is transferring from, finding a locker, if student is a Jr. High student assigning a PAL, finding a student to tour the building with the new student, among other things.
- To keep the school running smoothly and efficiently while maintaining a friendly and pleasant attitude.
- To aid faculty, staff and parents in whatever situation arises with complete confidentiality and professionalism.
- To be able to multi-task and be flexible at all times.
- Provide administrative support by preparing correspondence and reports, receiving and directing visitors, and maintaining student population records.
- Accurately handle purchasing and inventory procedures.
- Act as mediator between faculty, staff, parents and the principal.
- Answer and direct phone calls or take messages and deliver as needed.
- Contact and coordinate substitute teachers; be on call for last minute calls from teachers and staff; call subs from home if needed; record absences and keep up daily; record all sub days; turn into payroll at the end of the month. Take lesson plans over the phone if necessary.
- Order office supplies and general supplies for teachers.
- Create and distribute correspondence from school to parents.
- Set up school year in the computer.
- Set up classes for schedule.
- Enter student schedule information from counselor's office and print schedules.
- Print class rosters for teachers.
- Keep record of attendance/tardiness each day and send letters home as needed.
- Record discipline and send appropriate letters.
- Take care of incoming traffic to office.
- Make daily/monthly backup for computer.
- Run end of month reports: student attendance, attendance summary, monthly backup, substitutes report.
- Check out keys to teachers/substitutes and keep log of all keys passed out.
- Record mid-quarter, quarter, and semester grades; collect, mail and file mid-quarter grades; collect quarterly grades from teachers and enter data into computer; run grade cards to send home, print grade labels, attach grade labels to permanent files.
- Record requisition and assign purchase orders for all purchases from employees.
- When nurse is unavailable, assess any medical situation and call parent or emergency personnel if needed. Administer minor first aid when required and contact nurse as needed.
