Job Summary:
The Scheduling Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the scheduling activities within the organization. This role involves creating efficient and effective schedules, assessing, communicating and coordinating staffing and equipment needs, optimizing workflow, and maintaining a balance between operational requirements and employee availability. The Scheduling Manager collaborates with both internal and external teams (customers and peer organizations) to ensure timely fulfillment and compliance with all regulatory and organizational policies.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage daily, weekly, and monthly schedules to meet operational needs.
- Identifies delays, bottlenecks, or risks that could impact timelines.
- Works with project managers, supervisors, and other stakeholders to align schedules with project goals
- Revises schedules as needed to accommodate changes in scope, priorities, or unforeseen circumstances
- Coordinate with department heads and supervisors to determine staffing and equipment requirements.
- Communicate and coordinate with appropriate SW Gas and contractor personnel for timely and compliant fulfillment.
- Optimize schedules to maximize productivity and minimize labor costs.
- Analyze scheduling data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for scheduling issues.
- Communicate schedule changes, updates, and requirements to staff in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of schedules, hours worked, and time-off requests.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels by monitoring availability and skill requirements.
- Work closely with HR.
Experience/Skills
- Operations Management or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in scheduling, workforce planning, or a similar role.
- Supervisory or managerial experience is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in scheduling software and tools to create and manage schedules (e.g., Microsoft Excel)
- Analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Compensation: $80,000+ (Based on Experience)
