ENGINEERING BUSINESS MANAGER - CIVIL INFRASTRUCTURE
GENERAL SUMMARY
This Engineering Business Manager of Roadway position will use their engineering background in developing and executing a strategic business plan to develop, market and promote geosynthetic value added products (VAPs) within the designated region to increase sales and profitability.
The position will include the following:
- Encompass engineering, technical specifications, business development ,marketing, project management, construction, overall coordination efforts and support for sales.
- Coordination with the entire Roadway team including engineering business managers, research and development, engineering services, regional sales managers, marketing, manufacturing, and internal operations to coordinate execution of marketing and sales strategy for the Roadway geosynthetic VAPs.
- Contribution to efforts that increase differentiation and profitability, including assistance with innovative engineering, product development and testing, market channel improvements, etc.
- Building customer relations for maximum long-term growth. The position is responsible for relationship development concentrated and regular customer support contacts and market feedback.
- Provides marketing and sales support through training, customer interaction, and specific market penetration activities within the region to increase the Low Carbon Solutions Division revenue generation.
Business development of the Roadway geosynthetic solutions will concentrate on the infrastructure and market sector transportation applications, which includes (but not be limited to):
Roadways
Railroads
Renewable Energies
Subgrade Separation / Stabilization
Pavement reclamation – Interlayers & Overlays
Subsurface Drainage/Moisture Management
MSE/Retaining Walls
Haul Roads
Unpaved roads
Commercial and Residential Construction
Steep Slope Stabilization
Ultimately the position will be the “face” of the Solmax Civil Infrastructure Division within the region by establishing rapport within the Transportation industry associations (ASCE, ASHE, AREMA), both the private and public infrastructure including:
Owners/Developers
Engineering Consultants both Civil & Geotechnical
State and Federal Regulatory Agencies (FHWA, DOTs)
State & Local DOTs
Public Works Departments
Contractors
Distribution
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, other engineering, construction management, or other relevant technical field of study
experience in an engineering/technical capacity (design, technical specifications, bid documents, technical reports, construction support, etc.) within the Transportation sector.
High level of business integrity.
Superior attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge or Solmax Roadway VAPs and applications.
Proficient in technical tools and applications for efficient communication (Microsoft Office Suite apps, Teams, Zoom, Adobe, iOS functionality, etc.).
OTHER:
Ability and willingness for frequent domestic travel
No physical limitations that might preventor restrict traverse of typical sites within the infrastructure and environmental natural resource market segments.
