As a Rental Sales Associate at Riggs Cat, you will receive comprehensive training and hands-on experience, preparing you for a successful career in rental sales.
What You’ll do:
- Lead Generation: Assist in gathering and organizing lists of potential customers from various sources, including directories, trade shows, and online platforms.
- Customer Interaction: Travel within the assigned territory to engage with existing and prospective customers through phone calls, in-person visits, and sales meetings.
- Pricing and Contracts: Learn to quote prices, establish credit terms, and prepare sales contracts for customer orders.
- Coordination: Work closely with store rental personnel to manage equipment availability and delivery.
- Reporting: Contribute to preparing reports on business transactions and managing expense accounts.
- Customer Training: Participate in the organization and delivery of customer training sessions.
- Data Entry: Enter and update customer and sales data in the computer database.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, including foremen, site managers, and purchasing contacts.
- Issue Resolution: Assist in investigating and resolving customer issues related to deliveries.
- Event Participation: Attend trade shows and industry events to promote rental equipment.
- Sales Promotion: Support promotional efforts related to rental machines and services.
- Continuous Learning: Engage in ongoing education and training on Riggs' equipment product lines.
- Sales Monitoring: Track rental sales activities and report any lost sales.
- Customer Satisfaction: Ensure the long-term satisfaction of customers by addressing their needs and concerns.
- Team Collaboration: Support team selling efforts across various departments, including parts, general line, rental, hydraulics, and power solutions.
Requirements
What you’ll need:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be
- Experience: 1 year of experience in sales or rental roles, with knowledge of Caterpillar or competitor equipment is a plus.
- Skills: Strong communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to negotiate and solve problems effectively.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and perform basic calculations.
- Personal Qualities: Driven, adaptable, and persistent with respect for cultural differences and a commitment to a harassment-free work environment.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
