Safety Manager at FootBridge Company

Job Title:  Safety Manager
Location: Duette, FL
Duration: 12+ Months contract
Pay Range: $55 – $65/hr, all hours worked
Per Diem: Local highly preferred
Work Schedule: 5×10’s
Target start date/availability: January 2 Start

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop the safety culture w/ contractor supervision.
• Daily site and document audits of all clients required forms.
• Audit training records for specialty or nuance tools and equipment.
• Conduct Confined Space Audits & assist in shortfalls.
• Audit required fall protection training and equipment use.
• Review and maintain a copy of all inbound crane inspections / conduct walk around visual inspections.
• Review all crane lift plans & assist OPT Construction Manager with Critical Lift plans.
• Review to assure MSHA crane compliance & attend all High-Risk work meetings.
• Audits to inspect equipment, barricading, environment, methods, PPE, Hot work areas, Fall protection issues, excavation practices and electrical work activities.
• Collect information and record finding to be communicated to contractors’ management.
• Manage all incidents regardless of severity. (Significant Incident management must ensure proper scene security and Authorities are notified) Client and project management so they can notify MSHA as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Requirements:
• Strong working knowledge of Earthwork and General Civil construction activities.
• Minimum 10-15 years of relevant project experience working in civil, geotechnical, earthwork construction is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good writing and report preparation skills.
• Position will report to the Site Safety Manager.

EDUCATION & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• CHST – Construction Health & Safety Technician (desired)
• OSHA – 500 Train the Trainer Construction Safety & Health Certification (desired)
• MSHA – 5000-23 Part 48
• OSHA – 30 Hour Construction Safety & Health (1926)
• First Aid to include CPR and AED
• First Aid Treatment for Burns and Wraps
• Proficient in Accident and Incident Investigations (Root Cause Analysis)
• Trained in Incident Management and Investigative Procedures (desired)
• Project Experience with heavy civil projects / activities
• Project Experience with fusion of large bore HDPE piping (desired)
• Familiar with overhead electrical installations
