The Safety Engineer supports the safety manager and project team in ensuring the successful and safe execution of construction projects. This role involves making safety-related recommendations, implementing policies and procedures, and addressing safety concerns in both field and office environments. The Safety Engineer also aids the project team in planning, monitoring work activities, and mitigating unsafe acts or conditions. This is considered a safety-sensitive position.
Essential Duties:
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including staff, craft workers, and trade partners.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safety and health programs, owner requirements, and applicable regulatory standards such as EM 385-1-1.
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and managing the accident prevention plan, safety management tools, and crisis management plans.
- Participate in the six-step quality control and safety process, including reviewing activity hazard analyses and conducting follow-up inspections.
- Perform project safety audits, including maintaining project point files.
- Assist with OSHA inspections when required.
- Support investigations of accidents and near-miss events, injury management, and claim reporting.
- Monitor safety performance of both internal teams and trade partners.
- Attend safety courses, including awareness and competent person-level training.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the construction process and the roles and responsibilities of team members.
Position Qualifications:
- A 4-year degree is preferred, with an emphasis on Occupational Safety and Health.
- Valid Drivers License required.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel templates specifically), Prolog, Primavera, and AutoDesk Suite.

- Salary Range: The compensation for this position is $72,600 annually.
