SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY GENERAL ENGINEER/ARCHITECT - Naval Facilities Engineering Command

Summary You will serve as a PLANNING, DESIGN, & CONSTRUCTION BRANCH HEAD in the FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND ACQUISITION DIVISION of NAVFAC NORTHWEST. Responsibilities You will lead project planning staff and oversee the production of a wide variety of project planning products and services. You will lead design staff in performing project management roles for the project from preliminary design authorization to project closeout. You will oversee the development of plans and specifications, design-build Requests for Proposals (RFPs), cost engineering, and consultation services. You will provide construction engineering expertise on projects managed within the Branch, particularly those of an unusual or complex nature. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) if applying for the 0801 series. You must be a Registered Architect (RA) if applying for the 0808 series. Your license or registration must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. You MUST provide a copy of your current license/registration with your application. A copy of a wall certificate that does not have an expiration date will not serve to verify this requirement. In addition to the Selective Placement Factor, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Supervising and/or leading a team of engineers, architects, construction managers and technicians in performing the full range of multidisciplinary engineering responsibilities; 2) Overseeing engineering and architectural processes through the design management, construction management, project management, acceptance, and project close-out stages; 3) Providing technical engineering support to subordinates and staff; 4) Resolving engineering design problems to ensure mission accomplishment 5) Managing resources to include staffing requirements, capacity, and workload.
