Summary of Position
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Senior Production Supervisor manages personnel, and the production / packaging processes of donuts across multiple production lines.
- Location: 1120 West Fullerton Ave, Addison, IL
- Shift: 9:30am-6:30pm
- Workweek: Sunday to Friday (EXTRA DAY PAY AVAILABLE)
Essential Job Functions
- Work with operations management personnel to instill and uphold a team culture committed to safety, excellence, continuous improvement, and creative, cost-conscious problem solving.
- Evaluate and recommend measures to improve safety, housekeeping and sanitation, production methods, efficiency, asset utilization, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Train employees. Plan, assign, and direct work; monitor performance; reward and, if needed, discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems. Collaborate with HR to select line personnel for hire and evaluate new hires.
- Review daily production schedules. Determine requirements for and availability of labor, ingredients and packaging materials and makes necessary adjustments.
- Oversee the startup, adjustment and/or setup of packaging and labeling machinery.
- Inspect and measure raw and/or finished products to verify conformance to specifications. Direct workers in adjusting machines and equipment if products fail to meet standards.
- Conduct consistent and disciplined review of KPIs on Redzone. Promptly investigate shortfalls and analyzes ways to improve plant operations and OEE while stabilizing improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety/ quality requirements reporting issues to the Production Manager and/or Director of Food Safety.
- Prepare and evaluate reports and documentation for production, down time, efficiency, productivity, scrap, and other reports as required.
- Master Company policies, procedures and cultural norms and hold team accountable for compliance with the letter and spirit of these requirements acting as a role model and coach.
- Complies with all Food Safety Requirements including GMPs when in production areas and reports all food safety or quality issues to supervisor or Food Safety department.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma with 3-5 years of manufacturing supervisory experience managing people.
- A self-starter with a strong work ethic who operates with a sense of urgency.
- Calm and steady demeanor working with people in fast paced environments.
- Someone who promotes collaboration and teamwork with both the desire and ability to lead, train and mentor employees.
- Ability to analyze data, reports and plant performance working methodically through challenges.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Passionate about safety, quality and the customer experience.
- Honest, highly ethical.
- Highly organized, ability to juggle multiple initiatives with excellent attention to detail.
- Computer literate including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience in food processing or packaging in an automated, high-speed packaging environment.
- Knowledgeable of GMP’s, SQF, safety practices and OSHA regulations.
- Knowledge and practical experience in LEAN.
- Spanish helpful but not required.
