Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented SQL Server Backend Programmer to join our team remotely. The ideal candidate will have at least&

12 years of experience

& in SQL Server backend programming, data modeling, production support, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and database administration. In addition, the candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be comfortable working in a remote environment, strictly following Pacific Time zone working hours. You will be responsible for supporting and maintaining critical production systems, developing and optimizing ETL processes, and managing complex data models while leveraging version control tools like GitHub. Ideal candidate should be able to lead the migratioon from current Azure version control tool to GitHub.

Responsibilities:

Production Support

:

Provide high-level support for production databases, ensuring stability, performance, and availability of SQL Server environments.

Troubleshoot and resolve critical database issues, including performance bottlenecks, data inconsistencies, and application errors.

Proactively monitor databases for performance issues and optimize queries, stored procedures, and indexes for efficiency.

Participate in incident management, providing timely responses and resolutions to database-related incidents.

Data Modeling

:

Design and implement robust data models (both normalized and dimensional) based on business requirements.

Develop and maintain Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), database schemas, and documentation.

Work closely with business analysts, data architects, and other stakeholders to ensure data models align with business needs.

ETL Programming

:

Lead the development and optimization of ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or other ETL tools.

Write efficient SQL queries to transform and load data across systems, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and performance.

Collaborate with teams to ensure seamless data migration, integration, and synchronization between systems.

Develop and automate data workflows to facilitate the efficient movement of data from source to destination.

Version Control

:

Use version control systems (such as GitHub) to track, manage, and deploy changes to SQL scripts, stored procedures, and other database-related code.

Collaborate with development teams to maintain versioned code repositories and ensure best practices for version control.

Qualifications:

Education

: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
