Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:
1. Owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests
2. Ensuring the Performance and Stability of the RDBMS platforms
3. Providing, reviewing and resolving service related alerts/reports for maintenance, capacity, performance, ETL status
4. Diagnose and resolve database performance issues.
5. Proactively monitor the system
6. Deploy database change scripts in multiple environments
7. Help evaluate new technologies for inclusion in the environment
Position Requirements:
Education or Equivalent:
• BS in Computer Science or Information Systems or Equivalent Work Experience
Experience or Equivalent:
• 8-10+ years’ experience working on relational database platform with emphasis on VLDBs.
• On-call deployment and troubleshooting experience
• Experience with database design principles, including normalization and aggregation, for both on-line and data warehouse schemas to support the needs of application developers.

• Hardware analysis (Disk I/O, Network I/O, Processors, Memory)

• Database Backups/Restores Technologies
• Implementing New Database servers in a Virtual Environment
• Database Design Skills including Normalization and Data Warehouse design
• Strong TSQL skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Structured Troubleshooting Skills
• SQL Query Performance Tuning experience
• Log Shipping, Mirroring and Always-on technologies
• Replication
• Experience with Foglight and other 3rd party Monitoring Tools
• Experience in the healthcare industry, a plus
• Analyze, solve, and correct database issues in real time.
• Provide suggestions for solutions.
• Refine and automate regular processes.
• Track issues and document changes.
• Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement.
• Minimize database downtime.
• Implement high-speed transaction recovery techniques
• Provide 24x7 on call rotation support for critical production systems.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours

• Microsoft SQL Server 2017 Reporting Services (SSRS)
