The Role:
As a Route Sales Representative, you will play a pivotal role in growing our territory of customers throughout Southern California. You will prospect and establish relationships with convenience and small grocery store owners with the ultimate goal of converting them to customers. We are seeking candidates with strong route sales or food/grocery sales experience who are enthusiastic, have a “no fear” attitude, and share our hunger to serve customers.
Requirements:
- Must maintain a valid Driver’s License and automobile insurance coverage per the Company’s specified requirements
- Must be able to lift products from 20lb to 35lb on a regular basis
- Must be punctual and have reliable automobile transportation
- Excellent communication and social skills, with the ability to persuasively communicate recommendations and efficiently champion customer needs
- Prior route sales and/or food/grocery sales experience
Responsibilities:
- As a Route Sales Representative, you will cold call store owners to recruit and sign new store accounts
- Welcome visits to onboard first-time customers and train them on our platform and offerings
- Save existing customers who have not used Mercaso in a long time
- Keep track of visits and calls and follow up with customers as promised
- Communicate important customer feedback and market insights about our product assortment, pricing, and service with team members
- Demonstrate the use of our website & app features to customers
- Continuously improve through feedback
- Provide support for other ad hoc projects as needed
