## Full job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Mobile Mechanic to join our fast-growing company. As a Mobile Mechanic you will be responsible for providing on-demand mechanical services and repairs to our clients' vehicles at their location. We only work on Semi Trucks and Semi Trailers. We do not offer automotive Roadside assistance. The ideal candidate will possess excellent diagnostic skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the flexibility to work on a 24-hour on-call basis to meet the needs of our expanding customer base.
Responsibilities:
- On-Demand Repairs: Respond promptly to service calls from clients requiring mechanical assistance. Travel to the client's location to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and restore the unit to optimal operating condition.
- Diagnostic Expertise: Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical problems accurately and efficiently. Diagnose issues with diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and other vehicle components as well as semi trailers.
- Repair and Maintenance: Perform a wide range of mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks, including minor engine repairs, brake repairs, suspension repairs, and fluid checks. Ensure that all repairs are completed to industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Customer Interaction: Interact professionally with clients to assess their needs, explain repair options, and address any questions or concerns they may have. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent communication and service delivery.
- On-Call Availability: Be available to work on a 24-hour on-call basis, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to respond to service calls and meet the needs of our clients. Respond promptly to service requests and prioritize urgent repairs as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service calls, work performed, parts used, and labor hours. Complete service reports and other documentation in a timely and thorough manner.
Requirements:
- Mechanical Expertise: Extensive experience and expertise in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, and mechanical issues related to semi-trucks and trailers. Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, components, and repair techniques.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification or equivalent qualifications are highly desirable.
- On-Call Availability: Willingness to work on a 24-hour on-call basis, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to respond to service calls and emergency repairs. The shift requires 5 days a week of 24 hr availability.
- Driver's License: Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to operate commercial vehicles as required for service calls.
- Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with clients and provide exceptional service in challenging situations.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and develop effective repair solutions.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects, work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
