Position Overview As a Retail Host at Whiskey Joe's Tampa, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring they receive a warm welcome and exceptional service from the moment they arrive. In addition to greeting and seating guests, you'll be responsible for assisting with the retail operation, including maintaining and restocking retail products. You will also support inventory management and take on the role of Lead Host when required, coordinating and mentoring junior hosts to ensure smooth operations. This role demands strong organizational skills, a customer-first attitude, and the ability to perform in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting Guests: Welcome guests as they enter the restaurant and ensure they feel valued and appreciated.
- Managing Reservations: Handle reservations efficiently using our reservation system and ensure proper seating arrangements.
- Seating Guests: Escort guests to their tables in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner.
- Guest Experience: Answer questions about the menu, location, and events; ensure all guests have a positive experience throughout their visit.
- Maintaining Cleanliness: Ensure the front entrance and host stand are tidy, organized, and welcoming.
- Coordinating with Staff: Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and management to ensure smooth guest flow and service.
- Monitoring Waitlists: Maintain accurate waitlists during busy periods, keeping guests informed of estimated wait times.
- Promote Special Events: Inform guests about upcoming events, promotions, or specials happening at Whiskey Joe's.
- Handle Complaints and Issues: Address any guest concerns or issues promptly and professionally, escalating to management when necessary.
Retail and Inventory Management:
- Inventory Counting: Assist in counting and managing retail inventory, ensuring accurate stock levels and reporting discrepancies.
- Restocking Retail: Regularly check and restock retail shelves with Whiskey Joe's merchandise
- Maintain Retail Displays: Ensure retail displays are neat, well-organized, and visually appealing to guests.
- Track Inventory Usage: Monitor the sales of retail items and notify management of any low-stock items that need to be reordered.
- Support Ordering: Help track and place orders for retail merchandise and supplies to maintain inventory levels.
Lead Host Responsibilities:
- Lead and Mentor: Take on the role of Lead Host during shifts, supervising junior hosts and assisting with training.
- Coordinate Guest Flow: Ensure guests are seated efficiently and provide guidance on how to handle busy periods to maintain a smooth operation.
- Manage Host Scheduling: Assist management in creating host schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours.
- Problem-Solving: Step in to resolve guest complaints or difficult situations, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
- Lead by Example: Set a high standard for guest interaction, customer service, and teamwork.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a customer service or host position is preferred.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor and guide others.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management practices is a plus.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of the Tampa area and local events is a plus.
- A passion for providing outstanding guest experiences.
