Job Summary:
The Operation Inspector ensures that Salem’s Fresh Eats operations staff implement & adhere to all the health, safety, and regulatory standards while maintaining a high level of service quality. This role involves conducting regular inspections, identifying areas for improvement, and working with staff to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Inspections: Perform routine and surprise inspections of the restaurant premises, including kitchen, dining areas, and storage facilities, to ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor Compliance: Verify adherence to food safety guidelines, proper handling and storage of ingredients, and sanitation procedures.
- Evaluate Performance: Assess the quality of food preparation and service, ensuring that dishes are prepared and presented according to restaurant standards.
- Report Findings: Document inspection results, prepare detailed reports on any issues found, and communicate findings to management.
- Implement Improvements: Work with the management team to develop and implement corrective action plans for identified issues and monitor the effectiveness of these changes.
- Training and Guidance: Offer guidance and support to ensure that all employees understand and adhere to restaurant policies. Provide training if required to staff on best practices for food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
- Stay Informed: Keep up to date with local, state, and federal regulations and industry trends to ensure the restaurant remains compliant with all relevant laws and standards.
- Customer Feedback: Address and investigate customer complaints related to food quality, cleanliness, and service, and work with staff to resolve issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; certification in food safety or health inspection preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience in food safety, quality assurance, or a similar role within the food service industry for more than 5 years.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent observational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions:
