Hotel Marcel is a historic rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of the mid-century modern Armstrong Rubber Company Building aka Pirelli Building, originally designed by Marcel Breuer in 1967. The building is sustainable with LEED Platinum certification, solar power from the rooftop, parking canopy arrays to provide 100% of electricity for lighting, heating and cooling, electric car charging stations and much more. The hotel is the first Passive House certified hotel and the first net-zero energy hotel in the United States.
It has165 rooms, a full service restaurant, gallery, and 7,000 square feet of meeting space. True to the Tapestry brand style expect a unique boutique feel that combines local experiences, modern designs, and intimate service.
The Restaurant Manager must be a hands-on manager, working side by side with the team strengthening teamwork and customer service, creating an amazing visit for every customer. The food and beverage team will be setting the industry standard. Therefore, we are seeking a manager with the ability to lead a great team in a fine dining environment.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee a team of employees including hiring, development, scheduling and training
- Ensure high-level of service in all aspects of operations and give each guest a memorable dining experience from start to finish
- Create a service first work environment
- Assure cleanliness of front of the house areas including windows, light fixtures and entrance as assigned
- Assign service-related tasks to servers
- Ensure dining tables are properly prepared for service
- Communicate to staff all current menu choices, specials and menu deviations, or if the kitchen staff is running out of any items
- Assist with special events as needed.
- Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
- Understand and communicate products and services available at the hotel.
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to Human Resources
- Ensure team members' uniform is neat and professional and grooming standards have been followed
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets
- Anticipate and address guests' service needs
- Thank guests with genuine appreciation
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others
- Comply with quality assurance expectations and standard
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years Restaurant Management,
- Ability to direct and coordinate the organization's goals and objectives,
- Hands on leadership style, Able to build, coach, and develop a team, Excellent interpersonal communication skills,
- Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills,
- Detail oriented with focus on quality, perform all duties as required or requested,
- Be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays when restaurant is open and based upon the needs of the business.
Physical Demands:
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Must be able to access and navigate through each department at the hotel.
