Education/Certifications Required:
- Unencumbered registered or certified Respiratory Therapist authorized to practice in Colorado. Must possess an active CRT or RRT credential.
- Must possess, as a minimum, an associate degree from an accredited school.
- Minimum of one (1) year respiratory experience in a skilled nursing and/or acute care setting.
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
- Knowledgeable user of Point Click Care (PCC).
Role:
Collaborating with the Interdisciplinary Team, the primary responsibility of the RRT/CRT is to perform respiratory/pulmonary therapy, management, rehabilitation, diagnostic evaluation, and direct care to residents with deficiencies and abnormalities, which affect the pulmonary system.
On a typical day, a Respiratory Therapist reviews their resident assignments for their shift. They also review their resident’s information, including current vitals, completed treatments and symptoms. Throughout the day, Respiratory Therapists visit with their assigned residents and inquire about how they feel with current treatments. They evaluate the resident’s lung capacities, check the amount of carbon dioxide and oxygen in a resident’s blood and perform other tests, as necessary.
Essential Duties:
- Receives and follows schedule/instructions for resident care as assigned from the director of nursing and in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Performs focused interview to identify specific resident needs.
- Assesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the resident’s condition and notifies supervisor and documents in PCC.
- Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and information from health care members and documents actual and/or potential diagnoses, coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team (IDT) and documents in resident electronic chart (Point Click Care/PCC).
- Works with the nursing team assigned as primarily responsible for the resident. Communicates with the physician as needed and ensures communication of resident care needs is electronically documented.
- Complies with PHI and HIPAA policies regarding any disclosure of resident status.
- Plans for outcomes of care for those residents assigned.
- Performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and the community policies and adheres to emergency, safety, and infection control procedures of the community.
- Promotes and participates in activities to facilitate effective interpersonal communications.
- Reports changes in the resident’s respiratory status to the Directors of Nursing and Respiratory Care.
- Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-department personnel.

Job Type: Full-time and Part-Time needed (3 Positions)
Pay: $27.00 - $36.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Healthcare setting: Skilled Nursing/Acute care and Rehab services center.
Shift: Coverage needed 7 days/week. 8-hour shifts, rotating weekends, regularly schedule 40 hours/workweek.
