Summary:
The Workforce Group is seeking Residential/Commercial Property Inspectors to perform residential and commercial damage assessments in support the state of Florida with long-term recovery from prior disasters. The Site Inspector, also known as the damage assessor, performs comprehensive damage assessments in support of disaster recovery efforts. While utilizing Substantial Damage Estimator. The Site Inspector will capture all incident-related damage information for the Site Inspection Report. This information includes: Description of the facility. Exact dimensions of damage, including specific materials and size/capacity/model of the damaged components.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Inspector must attend the required training and maintain a complete understanding of all applicable Program policies, requirements, and procedures while working independently to manage inspection assignments.
- Document activities and homeowner communications in Xactimate and Claims Management System (CMS).
- Contact and schedule all appointments with homeowners.
- Inspect all interior and exterior areas of each home, including crawlspaces, attics, and roofs.
- Conduct thorough residential inspections, including taking photographs, record scope notes, and complete checklists or other forms as required.
- Measure, diagram, and input floorplans, elevations, and other areas as required into Xactimate Sketch.
- Enter field data and eligible scope into software provided for completed work and prospective repair work.
- Be able to work Twelve Hours a day Seven Days a week performing program required inspections.
- Flexibility for quick mobilization to affected areas.
Qualifications:
Inspector candidates should possess the below qualifications, knowledge, and skills:
- Minimum of three (3) years of residential property inspection experience working in the field with at least three (3) years' experience utilizing Xactimate software.
- Ability to precisely measure a floorplan and other home components.
- Ability to accurately scope storm related damage and accurately sketch and enter all variables into program software.
- Knowledge of Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and building codes/standards.
- Familiarity with HUD's Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Programs preferred.
- Possess laptop, laser measuring device, ladder, camera, and other tools as necessary.
- Ability to access and inspect all areas of a subject home to perform physical inspections; climb roofs, stoop, bend, etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical skills, ability to work independently, and effective interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Applications and excellent typing skills.
- Valid Driver's License.
