Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Resident Support Engineer (RSE) to join our team and provide exceptional on-site technical support to our Commvault customer base. This role is critical in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of Commvault's suite of applications, including Simpana, within a government environment.
Required Qualifications
Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance is required.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Backup Administration, preferably with Commvault Simpana. (Commvault certifications are a plus.)
Practical knowledge of data lifecycle management, disaster recovery, and software performance tuning.
Familiarity with hardware devices, including storage arrays, SANs, servers, and NAS devices.
Technical Skills: Advanced administration and troubleshooting of Windows server environments. (Microsoft or other relevant certifications are a plus.)
Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V, VMware, or Citrix XenServer in complex environments.
Exposure to backup solutions from Symantec, EMC, IBM, or similar providers.
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving capabilities with a logical and confident approach.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical details in business terms. Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
Certifications: CompTIA Security+ (preferred).

Additional Requirements
- Ability to work on-site in Washington, DC, 5 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day administration of the Commvault environment.
- Monitor and review daily backup reports to address failures and enhance job success rates.
- Collect, analyze, and document the current Commvault environment's configuration and performance.
- Review customer policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Commvault's best practices.
- Troubleshoot and optimize backup and restore throughput issues.
- Develop and implement solutions for complex data movement challenges, such as backups over WAN.
- Own and resolve technical trouble tickets efficiently.
Salary
50 - 60 /hour
