Job DescriptionWe are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Assistant to join our Memory Care team in Streamwood on a PRN (as-needed) basis. In this role, you will provide essential care and support to our memory care residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being while maintaining the highest standards of professional care.
- Assist residents with daily living activities including grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, and hair care
- Monitor and document resident care, behaviors, and observations in accordance with community protocols
- Obtain and record vital signs, heights, and weights accurately
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and implement appropriate safety measures
- Transport residents to various activities and appointments within the community
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of resident apartments
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive resident care
- Participate in required training and educational programs
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures while providing resident care
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of all state-mandated educational requirements for the position
- Current First Aid certification (can be obtained through company training)
- CPR certification preferred
- Heimlich Maneuver training (provided by the company)
- Previous experience working with elderly population, particularly in memory care settings, is preferred
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Physical ability to assist residents with daily activities
- Demonstrated empathy and patience in working with memory care residents
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to on-call situations
- Strong attention to detail in maintaining resident records and following care protocols
- Must be at least 18 of age with proper work authorization
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, caring attitude
