Research Administration Program Manager Job Summary:
The Research Administration Program Manager will provide administrative support to the Executive Director while overseeing the institutional publication databases and the CCSG Program and Shared Resources websites. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage complex projects while maintaining high attention to detail. Additionally, the Research Administration Program Manager will supervise office staff, optimize data management, and coordinate research administration tasks related to the CCSG progress reports and renewal submissions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in healthcare research administration and grant management, along with the ability to work efficiently with a diverse team.
Schedule & Location:
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Location: Houston, TX 77030, United States (Hybrid - Local Candidates Only)
Salary/Wage:
- Hourly Rate: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Job Duties:
Institutional Publications Management & Reporting:
- Manage institutional publications database for CCSG using EVAL.
- Review and analyze institutional publications for relevance to CCSG Programs.
- Produce publication lists for CCSG progress reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with the Internet Services Principal Application Systems Analyst to maintain data accuracy in reporting.
- Maintain a journal impact factor database and prepare analyses.
Data Management Optimization:
- Track CCSG performance metrics and advise the Executive Director.
- Lead data collection for NCI Cancer Center Support Grant and track program meetings and events.
- Develop dashboards for attendance reporting and other program metrics.
- Analyze collected data to identify trends and improve CCSG Administration.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for administrative meetings.
Research Administration Coordination:
- Serve as primary liaison between the Executive Director and CCSG component leaders.
- Manage timelines and organize documentation for CCSG progress reports and renewal submissions.
- Maintain the accurate and timely submission of required materials for grants.
- Compile and integrate data from CCSG components to create cohesive reports.
Administrative Support:
- Schedule and coordinate large, complex meetings with institutional leaders and the Executive Director.
- Take detailed meeting minutes and ensure timely follow-up on action items.
- Handle travel arrangements and reimbursements for the Executive Director.
- Prepare drafts of reports, memos, and presentations for the Executive Director.
- Manage special CCSG-related projects and perform related administrative duties.
Website Management:
- Manage and update the CCSG Shared Resources and Core Facilities websites and intranet.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant discipline.
Experience:
- Required: 5+ years of related program management experience, particularly in healthcare research administration, grant submissions, and data collection.
- Preferred: 10+ years of administrative support experience with senior leadership in large organizations.
Skills:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Expertise in data management, project coordination, and team collaboration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, and other related software.
- Ability to process large amounts of information quickly and efficiently.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
- Occasional travel may be required for meetings or events.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant discipline.
