This role contributes to Otterbein primarily through the ownership and leadership of the PBJ (Payroll Based Journal) process and submission, create, enhance and maintain strategic reporting and tools to drive staffing star ratings, create and update other ad hoc Workforce reporting, data analytics and structures
Responsibilities
- Understand, lead and support Payroll Based Journal submittals, enhancements and process and how government regulation changes can impact
- Provide Key Performance Indicator Data for Quality Improvement
- Provide training and support for sites and home office including, but not limited to, written communication surrounding new reports, enhancements and other changes related to PBJ, labor management tools and workforce management systems
- Alerts management of emerging trends and makes recommendations to address these trends
- Provide support to the organization via the requirements gathering, designing, building, running and maintaining reporting
- Work with home office leaders and site leaders for feedback and understand what tools are needed to be operationally effective
- Collaborate with IT to understand and utilize the appropriate tools to continue to improve data visualization tools for the individual sites
- Continue to assess tools needed to support the sites with data and information that is pertinent to managing staffing day to day
- Work with the long term goal being automation of data and reports to the sites limiting the manual workload from the field
- Partner with workforce management software to integrate tools and custom reporting when appropriate
- Meets regularly with the team to ensure that projects remain on track and that goals are achieved through key performance indicators
Special Skills and Requirements:
Qualifications/Special Skills/Requirements:
- Education: BA/BS degree or relevant experience
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant workforce management/data analysis experience required
- Minimum of 1 year experience with PBJ preferred
- Operations management and/or healthcare operations a plus
- Advanced in MS Excel, MS Access and other MS Office products
- Proficient in data visualization programs (ie: Tableau, Power BI, etc…)
- Experience with SharePoint a plus
- Experience in staffing processes
- Excellent detail oriented written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent planning and time management skills
- Proficient analytical diagnostic, troubleshooting and data visualization skills
- Knowledge of data cleaning, wrangling, visualization and reporting, with an understanding of the best, most efficient use of associated tools and applications to complete these tasks
- A willingness to explore new alternatives or options to solve data mining issues, and utilize a combination of industry best practices, data innovations and your experience to get the job done
- Able to adapt in to change in a fast pace environment
- Capable to meet deadlines, working under pressure with changing priorities
- You find satisfaction in a job well done and thrive on solving head-scratching problems
