Rental Operations Manager
Position Summary
The Rental Operations Manager oversees the rental operations of a multi-location division, ensuring effective communication with each location regarding fleet availability and equipment service needs. This role is responsible for maintaining high operational standards, managing inventory across all sites, and fostering exceptional customer service. The manager will also review fleet availability, assess equipment repair needs, and approve necessary fleet repairs to ensure operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Development
Collaborate with the senior leadership to establish and maintain consistent operational standards across all locations.
Train, mentor, and coach rental operations staff to promote professional growth and adherence to policies.
Conduct regular team meetings to align objectives and address location-specific challenges.
Set clear, measurable goals for each location, monitor progress, and provide actionable feedback.
Manage staffing needs, including hiring, scheduling, payroll, and related administrative functions.
Operational Oversight
Oversee the rental operations of a multi-location division, ensuring seamless coordination between sites.
Communicate effectively with all locations regarding fleet availability, equipment status, and service schedules.
Review fleet availability across locations to meet customer needs and optimize utilization.
Assess equipment repair needs and approve necessary repairs to maintain fleet reliability.
Maximize operational efficiencies by identifying opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
Perform fleet quality control to ensure equipment meets safety and reliability standards.
Oversee yard operations at each location, maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient environment.
Customer Service Excellence
Ensure consistent and professional customer service across all locations.
Assist customers in selecting rental equipment suited to their needs and clearly explain billing procedures.
Address customer concerns and ensure swift resolution to maintain satisfaction and loyalty.
Inventory and Fleet Management
Manage rental inventory across multiple locations, ensuring accurate tracking, availability, and timely service.
Monitor and communicate inventory levels and fleet readiness to location managers and senior leadership.
Coordinate equipment servicing schedules to minimize downtime and optimize fleet utilization.
Qualifications
Proven experience managing rental operations, particularly in a multi-location environment.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams and locations.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of fleet management, equipment servicing, and inventory control practices.Experience reviewing fleet availability and approving necessary equipment repairs.
Proficiency in customer service strategies and operational best practices.
Experience with HR functions, including payroll, scheduling, and staff development.Job
