URGENT CARE REQUIREMENTS:
- Shall provide direct and indirect nursing care, by contributing to the patient's assessment, determining priorities, identifying nursing measures and therapeutic objectives, and evaluating outcomes. The position requires independent judgment and nursing actions, flexibility, organization skills, and the ability to utilize an interdisciplinary approach in the provision of nursing care.
- Obtain patient history and pertinent family history.
- Assess patients and plan appropriate nursing care.
- Verify transcription of physician's orders, no verbal orders are to be accepted.
- Communicate pertinent patient data to charge nurse and/or physician as appropriate.
- Re-assess the patient's condition and revise plans of care based on identified nursing problems.
- Administer medications and Intravenous (IV) therapies.
- Be able to interpret cardiac rhythms and their implications.
- Reorganize and initiate appropriate measures in emergencies/therapies and surgical/diagnostic procedures that shall be accomplished.
- Instruct patient/family regarding prescribed medications/therapies and surgical/diagnostic procedures that shall be accomplished.
- Operate defibrillator, EKG machines, cardiac monitor, and other emergency technical equipment.
- Be able to initiate life-saving measures in the absence of physicians.
- Shall have a current license in at least one state, territory, or commonwealth in the U.S. or the District of Columbia.
- Current certification in CPR/BLS and ACLS.
- Must have a minimum of one year of direct patient care experience within the Urgent Care specialty assigned; Client experience is desirable.
- Immunizations must be up to date.
