About the Job
A Long Island-based nonprofit healthcare organization is looking to add a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) at one of their residential facilities in Suffolk County.
About the Opportunity:
- Setting: Residential facility
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 7:30am to 4pm or 10am to 6:30pm
- Patient Population: Adult ID/DD OPWDD
- Patient Volume: Caseload of 20
- EMR: Epic
Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse (RN) will:
- Serve as the medical liaison for IDT team and ensure proper medical follow-up
- Assess injuries/accidents to ensure individuals receive proper medical care
- Develop written plans for each person; modify nursing plan, as necessary
- Maintain medical records for each individual
- Accompany individuals to medical appointments, as assigned
- Ensure proper medical follow-up through an on-call system
- Ensures all medication is administered and stored, as necessary
- Complete appropriate incident reporting paperwork, as required
- Act as a liaison with family members regarding medical issues
- Provide ongoing training and supervision of AMAP certified staff
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Patient oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- OPWDD background
