We are on the search for a Regional Vice President, who is responsible for the successful execution of all sales and operational functions within their designated region of the Sacramento area. This role oversees and leads various teams accountable for maintaining safety, productivity, quality control, labor costs, sales, recruitment, procurement of projects/contracts, and all other activities impacting the successful completion of profit goals. You are also expected to work closely with general contractors and customers to effectively communicate project objectives and goals, ensuring the company is represented professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the achievement of regional safety and productivity objectives by effectively managing operational teams and allocating resources appropriately.
- Strategic planning and execution to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency throughout the regions operations.
- Maintain awareness of the competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customer needs, market trends, and new industry developments.
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to establish profit goals and formulate business plans to achieve or exceed those goals. Monitor and report on goal achievement to executive leadership.
- Manage preconstruction and estimating teams to ensure regional sales and profit goals are met.
- Develop and enhance the skills of office and field staff through training and mentoring.
- Oversee recruitment efforts to ensure projects are effectively staffed.
- Execute initiatives set forth by the Board of Directors to align regional operations with the companys overall direction.
- Participate in industry-related events and organizations to strengthen relationships with industry partners.
- Maintain exemplary customer relationships and set a high standard for client communication.
- Understand legal requirements, including contract reviews, lien rights, labor laws, prevailing wage compliance, and small or minority-owned business conditions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with peer executives at clients, architectural and engineering firms, and trade partners to support regional business plans.
- Introduce process improvement measures and present suggestions to executive leadership for consideration.
- Develop and direct quality assurance practices for all regional work.
- Proactively address potential issues, including those involving subordinate employees and jobsite challenges that may impact safety, production, or profit goals.
- Foster and support the company culture and overall mission at the regional level.
- Represent the company at charity and employee events, setting a standard for the team.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, rules, and laws.
- Lead key sales pursuits, presentations, and interviews.
- Identify and address safety-related issues and develop corrective action plans.
- Communicate lessons learned across project teams.
- Assist other regions with client introductions and relationship development.
- Travel up to 50% of the time, depending on regional leadership needs.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in a senior leadership role within the electrical contracting industry.
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Previous executive leadership experience within the electrical contracting industry preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale operations and achieve profit goals.
- Strong knowledge and experience in industry-specific strategic planning.
- Solid understanding of business-related reports (e.g., profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, projections/forecasting, labor productivity reports).
- Knowledge of industry-related compliance requirements (e.g., safety protocols, employment law, contractor licensing).
- Proficiency with electronic operating systems, communication methods, and presentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Blue Beam).
- Understanding of contract law, pricing, and conflict management.
- Strong verbal, written, and public speaking communication skills.
