About the Job
The Service Manager will lead the Service Team in the maintenance, repair, and operational optimization of solar (roof, carport, and ground-mounted systems), energy storage systems (ESS - SYL brand), and electric vehicle service equipment (EVSE). This role is critical in developing and implementing processes, procedures, pricing models, and contractual documentation to scale the service operations to meet the growing demands of the market. The position will be supported by the Director, Field Service Manager, and Field Technicians, and will play a key role in growing and organizing the service team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Manage and mentor the Field Service Manager and Field Technicians.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of service staff.
- Create a positive, safety-oriented, and efficient work environment.
- Process & Procedure Development:
- Establish and standardize service processes and procedures for solar, ESS, and EVSE systems.
- Develop a robust workflow for service requests, dispatch, and resolution.
- Implement preventative maintenance schedules and operational best practices.
- Operational Management:
- Ensure timely and effective maintenance and repair of all service contracts.
- Oversee the scheduling and execution of all field service activities.
- Work closely with the Director to ensure alignment of service goals with company objectives.
- Scalability & Growth Strategy:
- Create a scalable model for service operations to handle increasing service requests.
- Identify opportunities to enhance service offerings and grow the team's capacity.
- Pricing & Contractual Documentation:
- Develop and maintain pricing structures for service offerings.
- Draft and manage contractual service agreements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients regarding service contracts.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through quality service, timely responses, and transparent communication.
- Implement feedback loops for continuous improvement in service delivery.
- Budgeting & Financial Oversight:
- Work with the Director to manage the service team's budget.
- Monitor and control costs related to staffing, equipment, and contracts.
- Develop cost estimates for new service contracts and project bids.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in solar, ESS, or EVSE service operations.
- Proven leadership experience in a service management role.
- Strong knowledge of solar systems, energy storage systems, and EVSE equipment.
- Experience developing and implementing operational processes and procedures.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience in pricing models and contract management.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with SYL ESS systems and other solar service equipment.
- Knowledge of safety and compliance standards in the renewable energy industry.
- Experience scaling teams or operations in a growing market segment.
- Familiarity with scheduling tools such as Microsoft 365.

$90,000-$100,000 Base Salary + Bonus
