The physicians of Heaton Eye Associates have been serving East Texas’ vision needs for over 40 years. We offer state-of-the-art technology with special services ranging from primary eye care to world-class laser surgery. Our physicians were the first to offer LASIK laser vision correction in East Texas and have performed tens of thousands of procedures since its inception. Heaton Eye offers a wide range of premium lenses including Symfony Extended Depth of Focus lenses, PanOptix® lenses, and Vivity® lenses to offer freedom from glasses and contacts after cataract surgery. Our surgeons were the first in East Texas to offer the RxSight Light Adjustable Lens, the only lens implant that allows patients to preview and adjust their vision after cataract surgery. We are the first and only practice in the area offering EVO ICL, another exciting option offering patients freedom from contacts and glasses. Job Summary and Responsibilities:
To actively develop, coordinate and promote retail surgery services, refractive procedures of the department. Responsible for delivering excellent customer service to co-workers and customers with a 70% surgical yield while cultivating and promoting refractive and retail surgery services and community relations. Responsible for overseeing and leading the daily clinical flow for the refractive counselors and the LASIK surgery team. Coordinating with the Director of Business Development to perform staff reviews and discipline while also providing input into hiring/firing for the refractive department. Responsible for directing the refractive team’s daily output while focusing on maintaining high conversion rates and maximizing surgical volume. Must be proactive in resolving refractive related patient issues and will seek feedback from the surgeon and exec team as needed. Must have excellent communication skills to assist the Director of Business Development in implementing policies and procedures as needed. Will assist in overseeing our co-management and referral business with outside OD’s, ensuring all parties receive proper correspondence and documentation. Will provide input on strategies to improve our relationship with referring providers in the community.
Certifications/Licensures:
Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
Experience:
Sales background with demonstrated history of reaching sales goals and experience in effectively leading teams
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business or public health preferred
Job Relationships:
Directly Supervise: Tyler Refractive Team, (surgery counselor, LVN, Refractive Rep)
Primary Job Duties:
- Patient Counseling, scheduling and education of refractive procedures as well as pre-testing procedures
- managing the daily operations and processes for the refractive department
- Overseeing and directing the surgery counselors ensuring efficient operations and an excellent patient experience
- Following up and managing all web and phone leads and inquiries
- Employee performance reviews (annual, 3 mo, 6 mo)
- Assisting in the coordination of OD outreach and events
- Customer Service and Public Relations in coordination with Marketing
- Database and Co-Management Documentation/Coordination
- Work in LASIK suite on surgery days as needed
- Assisting in the management of HEA's social media profiles, campaigns, and promotions
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent in Spanish is preferred but not required
- Data based management
