Ellis Early Learning (formerly known as Ellis Memorial) is a vibrant, Boston-based nonprofit with a rich history founded in 1885. Ellis provides high-quality early education and care for infants, toddlers, and preschool children. Ellis is among the most socio-economically, racially, and culturally diverse organizations serving children in Boston. POSITION OVERVIEW
Warmly, friendly and organized administrative assistant wanted for a busy early childhood education center. Must be a personable professional with strong communication skills, able to work well in busy settings with an upbeat attitude. A mission-driver professional who loves young children and can multi-task in a dynamic environment would be a great fit. This is a full time 40 hours weekly/80 hours bi-weekly) on site position.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Warmly greeting and welcoming all families and guests
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Answering phones, transferring calls, relaying messages
- Responding to emails
- Logging volunteers and checking IDs at pick up when necessary
- Providing administrative and clerical support, particularly with regard to the Ellis meal program and attendance tracking
- Maintaining an organized reception space
- Providing classroom coverage in infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms when needed

- Exceptional ability to manage time and handle multiple tasks and priorities
- Attention to detail and highly flexible
- Excellent communication skills with a positive, warm demeanor
- Strong ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Familiarity and ability to work effectively with families of diverse racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural (e.g., LGBTQ, military) backgrounds

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
