The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for receiving and processing incoming stocks and materials, ensuring accuracy and completeness of shipments, and maintaining inventory records. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties:

• Receives, inspects, labels, stocks, pulls, tags, delivers, and loads raw material (metal bars or coils) for production operations.
• Receives all incoming purchases in ERP system and deliveries to requestors.
• Prepare and verify material shipments in accordance with purchase orders, bills of lading packing slips, labels, tags, travelers or inventory.
• Operate measuring instruments and equipment for inspection of raw materials (i.e., hand and laser micrometer).
• Identify any missing, lost, or damaged materials and immediately notify the supervisor.
• Operate forklift machinery and follow company safety procedures.
• Ability to read, follow directions, and periodically move material to other areas of the plant as directed.
• Knowledge of inventory, inventory control, material movement, and documentation procedures.
• Understand end-of-shift duties and housekeeping
• Performs other clerical and related duties as assigned.

Education / Experience: 2-3 years of experience preferred. High school diploma or GED preferred. Preferred previous Shipping and Receiving experience in the manufacturing industry.

Language Skills: Will be required to read and comprehend instructions, and correspondence, to write correspondence, memos, and schedules; and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients, and fellow staff.

Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills and analytical skills required.

Reasoning Ability: Problem-solving, reasoning, and "thinking out of the box" will be a constant requirement; in addition, applying common sense understanding to better serve our guests' needs.

Physical Demands:

• Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
• Prolonged periods of sitting.
• Occasional periods of walking and standing.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 - 40 pounds at a time.
• Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches.
• Consistently turning and moving of hands, arms, feet, and legs.

Vision Requirements: Regularly uses close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception. Ability to adjust focus.

Environment/Noise: Most work is performed indoors. Some work may be performed outside in all types of weather. Is exposed to noise, vibration, dust, oil, solvents, dirt, fumes, and odors that may affect the eyes, ears, nose, throat, and or skin.

Certificates/Licenses (Preferred Qualifications): Valid California Driver's License

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences

• Knowledge of raw material inventory, material lot numbers (heat numbers), material types, proper tagging procedures, and material handling.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Must be able to complete assignments or tasks with little supervision.
• Must be able to work in a team environment and collaborate with coworkers to accomplish all work goals and assigned tasks.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have excellent multi-tasking, time-management, and organizational skills.
