SUMMARY: This position will assist members with regard to credit union mortgage loan products and services. Tasks include, but are not limited to: greeting the members; reviewing and understanding credit reports; making decisions on whether to grant consumer and real estate loans; processing consumer and real estate loan applications and disbursing loans; cross selling by identifying, describing and recommending loan products and services that are best suited to fulfill the needs of the member; perform collection efforts on loans granted; counseling members with regard to their credit; answering account questions; handling complaints; and making changes to accounts as necessary. May assist with lending coverage in all branches and identifying training needs. This is a non-exempt position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Use AID,Inc principles to serve our members and meet CU sales and service goals
- Maintain a thorough understanding of credit union products and services and cross sell to meet member needs and reach assigned sales goals.
- Assist and advise members with maintaining loan accounts
- Approve consumer loans, VISAs and real estate loans within the limits set by management and credit union policy
- Conduct loan interviews, complete consumer loan documents and disburse funds on approved consumer loan applications
- Perform transactions for Share, Loan, Visa, Draft, Money Market and Holiday Club accounts
- Maintain a thorough understanding of credit union products and services
- Maintain loan files, making certain all supporting documents are in place and file is properly filed
- Perform account changes as necessary using correct forms and online software
- Disclose to members rates and fees for all accounts and loans, based on Rate and Fee Schedules
- Promote and cross sell products and services
- Prepare Direct Deposit, Payroll and Pre-authorized Funds Transfer forms and direct the forms through proper channels
- Obtain and evaluate credit reports
- Provide collateral protection insurance (CPI) answers to the membership
- Evaluate CPI insurance inquiry reports and discuss with Supervisor those accounts which need the coverage (to be maintained in Clatskanie Branch)
- Make changes on vehicle titles and send to Department of Motor Vehicles
- Participate with Branch Manager and other Loan Officers in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with car dealers in the community
- Be prepared to provide Kelly Blue Book quotes on the value of collateral using installed software
- Perform audits of loan files prepared and approved by Loan Officers
- Perform collection efforts on loans approved by the individual Loan Officer as directed by management
- Understands compliance issues and attends training as they relate to their position, including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, US Patriot Act, etc.
- Provide financial counseling to members, with ability to evaluate the member's financial condition and suggest alternative plans to create a better financial standing for the member
- Conduct loan interviews, analyze, complete loan documents, approve and disburse funds on in-house, HELOC and secondary market real estate applications
- Be familiar with loan products offered by competition and make suggestions to help create a marketing approach for WFCU to promote and provide members a sound lending program
- Perform drive-by appraisals for in-house real estate loans
- Maintain current NMLS registration
- Participate with Branch Manager and other Loan Officers in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with real estate agencies, title companies and other businesses in the community
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Two years progressive experience in consumer lending and building relationships successful with local car dealers or other businesses for consumer lending purposes
- At least three years consumer and real estate loan application processing experience
