A client of Sharp Decisions Inc. is looking to bring on a Senior JavaScript developer proficient in React / React Engineer to be based in Princeton, NJ. This position is HYBRID (Monday and Friday Remote. Tuesday, Wed and Thurs on-site). The contract’s duration is 6 months with possible extension. This position is a 35-hour work week. 7 hours a day. *W2 and local only
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Our client is looking for a senior JavaScript developer proficient in React. The primary focus of the selected candidate will be to architect and implement user interface components of a system for our client’s Digital Newsroom. The selected candidate will work in coordination with the rest of the the engineering team on different layers of the system. Must be a creative and motivated self-starter capable of driving the project goals forward by initiating collaboration and following through with others.
Responsibilities:
Partner with product managers, stakeholders, and other engineers to design and implement a world class system.
Work with other engineers to design and build UI guided by industry design principles.
Partner with middleware and backend engineers to architect and build backend APIs.
Play an active role in the product development process.
Contribute to a culture that is inclusive, motivating, and rewarding.
Skills & Experience:
Proficiency with React and Node.js
In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, HTML.
Significant experience with user interface design.
Experience with source control management systems and continuous integration/deployment environments.
Familiarity with build tools like terraform, jenkins, docker, etc.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Experience with browser-specific communication protocols and their nuances, including web sockets, CORS, etc.
Preferred: A strong background in software engineering and computer science fundamentals.
Preferred: Back-end expertise, including Java, Unix/Linux, understanding of SQL and XQL.
Preferred: experience with NoSQL databases.
Preferred: understanding of OIDC.
Preferred: AWS experience.
