Responsibilities:The Radiology Senior Coordinator oversees Risk Management/Legal requests specific to Imaging. Obtains patient consent for release of film copies. Faxes reports on demand and mails reports to referring physicians who are not included in the autofax Meditech file or request reprints. Prints prescriptions for MDs not on staff through PACS and forwards the printed paperwork to Medical Records. Assists with huddle organization and alerts Department.
Works collaboratively with all imaging modalities and responsible personnel. File and retrieve films in terminal digit sequence. Recover and combine old with current films. Scan IOC reports into patient's medical record.
Burn CD's for Risk Management requests, patients, and physician offices. Divide unread films among radiologists for reading. Retrieve film and reports for physicians and staff. Must be proficient using Meditech system to locate, retrieve patient files. Communicate with Off-site archiving agent for folder refrieval. Prepare all requests for film copies and maintain consents for these requests. Collects orders for supplies for all Radiology modalities.
Daily email correspondence with hospital personnel. Maintain and oversee master radiology tech worksheets for distribution. Daily manual faxing of physician reports that are not compatible with hospital autofax
Daily email distribution of ISO list. Must attend all hospital in-services as required by policy and procedure.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Extensive Radiology experience minimum 10 years support experience
- Experience with Risk Management requests for records Knowledge of Radiology, medical terminology, and filing Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Must be courteous and pleasant in busy, high pressure area.
- Complete Meditech and PACS training.
