Position Title: Staff Registered Nurse Unit Manager
Carroll Park Healthcare is recruiting for a registered nurse to fill a management/leadership role in a skilled nursing facility setting. The RN Unit Manager supports the Director of Nursing with the delivery of efficient and effective nursing care while achieving positive clinical outcomes, and patient/family and employee satisfaction during a designated shift.
The RN Unit Manager serves as a clinical operational liaison between units and the DON, ADON, medical director, and other nursing staff. He/she is responsible for the clinical operations of the Nursing Units including ensuring compliance with Carroll Park Healthcare policies and procedures, practice standards and regulations. This is primarily Monday-Friday position, but with rotating Manager on duty and/or On-Call. $5,000.00 sign-on bonus for full-time applicants.

Duties:
- Observe and monitor residents’ health and assess their needs to provide quality care
- Work with physicians to create individual care plans and assist them during required operations or procedures
- Maintain complete healthcare records and reports including PCC being utilized according to best practices.
- Supervise, manage, and assist in training LPN’s and GNA’s on staff
- Perform routine procedures as needed, including administering medication and injections, and provide emergency medical care when necessary
- Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness within the facility
- Collaborates with DON in maintaining adequate staffing coverage
- Effectively utilizes existing manpower to limit the amount of overtime/agency needed to support staffing
- Assess work performance of nursing staff while on duty ensuring timeliness in services to our patients/residents
- Maintain security of the facility, creating an environment that is respectful, team-oriented, and responsive to the needs of our staff, patients, and their families
- Monitoring nursing care to reduce hospitalizations and ensure positive outcomes.
- Encourages shift to shift communication between incoming and outgoing nursing staff.
- Reviews prospective Admissions in relation to existing nursing capabilities and ensures readiness to treat.
- Ensure that patient's attending physician and family or responsible party are promptly notified of any significant change in the patient health condition.
- Investigates patient/family complaints and takes appropriate actions to bring to resolution.
- This position will provide direct care to patients when necessary.
Requirements:
- Current state nursing licensure
- BLS/CPR certification
- In-depth knowledge of nursing care methods and health and safety guidelines
- Responsible and compassionate with outstanding organizational and communication skills
- Experience supervising GNAs and LPNs in a nursing home setting
